Manmouth County SPCA v. Vaccaro
The court ordered defendants to pay $10,000. settlement. This case is unique because it the State of New Jerseys animal cruelty law includes a provision allowing a private citizen to file suit on behalf of the SPCA. Click here to see more.
Frank Lucido v. Nestle Purina Petcare Company
This case was filed on February 5, 2015. Plaintiffs also allege that Beneful contains an automotive component propylene glycol that is known to be toxic to animals. This cites the Association for Truth in Pet Food which found dangerous levels of mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are produced by fungus that can occur in grains. We will watch this lawsuit carefully
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced that they will be retiring all of their performing elephants by 2018.

Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, Sierra Club, Washington Environmental Council, Seattle Audubon Society v. Port of Seattle.
This lawsuit asks the court to declare that the lease between the Port and Foss null and void and to declare that the Port violated the Shoreline Management Act and the City of Seattle's shoreline rules, and to issue an order vacating the lease.

This suit asks the court to require the EPA to take action under the Clean Air Act to reduce the high levels of air

The Nonhuman Rights Project, INC., on behalf of Hercules and Leo v. Samuel L. Stanley, Jr., M.D. as president of State University of New York at Sony Brook. The Nonhuman Rights Project argues the issue of bodily liberty. Hercules and Leo are two chimpanzees that have been kept captive for many years. This is a great organization and will be watching this case.
ALDF v. Hendry County
This case was filed on November 6, 2014. Animal Legal Defense Fund filed suit representing local residents. ALDF argues that the county has violated their states "Sunshine Law" when it authorized a monkey breeding facility. The "Sunshine Law" requires that state and local governments must advise the public and hold meetings open t the public on important issues. ALDF argues that the possession of the type of monkey that will be used in the facility is regulated only by the federal and state agencies due to the high risk of disease.

Humane Society of the United States and Sound Rivers, Inc. v. The Hanor Company of Wisconsin, LLC
This case filed on July 1, 2015. This case argues that Defendants failed to file required reports of the amount of hazardous ammonia that its factory pig farm releases into the air under the Federal Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act. This act was put in place to protect the public. Hanor I a part of Triumph Foods.
Center for Food Safety, Center for Biological Diversity, and Sierra Club v. United States Food and Drug Administration.
This case was filed on November 06, 2014. This lawsuit argues that the FDA erred when they approved eleven new and combined animal drugs containing ractopamine for use in more than an estimated one billion pigs, turkeys, and cows from 2008 to 2014.
